5 TRENDS THAT ARE HERE TO STAY IN 2019.
You might be thinking new year new wardrobe? But 2019 I feel is the year about sustainable fashion and buying wisely. Before you start shopping for new spring clothes... I'm going to talk you through some 2019 trends that will see you reaching for what you already have in your wardrobe! And your bank balance will thank you for it too!
1. BAMBOO BAGS.
Remember the Cult Gaia bamboo bags that everyone went crazy for last year? Well they are back again! But bigger and more intricate in design! High Street copies have been making their way into the shops so make sure you get your hands on one as its the perfect Spring/Summer bag!
2. SNAKE SKIN FOR THE WIN.
Step aside Leopard print!!! This year snake skin is the new leopard print according to Pinterest, where their searches were up by 642% on snake skin! I personally think snake skin is a great subtle way of adding print to your wardrobe and can be done by not only wearing it as clothing but adding the print into your wardrobe by shoes, bags or smaller accessories.
3. SLAY IN YOUR LANE.
The bike short trend is still around and will be for summer 2019 too! However this time its more of a tailored/ workwear look with tailored cut offs and zip/piping details. Mango have got some that they now call Bermuda cut offs which are basically a smarter version of the biker short leggings we saw in 2018. Toyshop have also got their Joni Jeans Style cut offs that are denim style cyclist shorts.
4. SHELL OBSESSION.
Hang on to those tortoise shell earrings and hair clips! The shell trend is here again for 2019. I'm talking tortoise shell sunglasses, bags, bangles, earrings, belts, and necklaces. Also the cowrie shell trend is back too but in styles that are more sophisticated and formal than before. Topshop have recently brought out their shell jewellery collection in hues of gold and cream. Can't wait to wear my shell accessories again this year!
5. SAY IT WITH SNEAKERS.
Finally trainers get the starring role they deserve and are bigger and chunkier than before. Colour blocking with coloured laces move into the forefront of the trainer trend. The ugly trainer is here to stay!
